brash is still ducking and weaving over questions about his continued role leading national..
but , of course, soon after the specials are counted…he will be gone….
and who comes next..
you’d have to say key has a prime seat..if the righties gain dominance….with katherine rich as a long shot if the centreists regain control of the party..(the lobbying will be fierce..)
the successes of this election for national will be trumpeted as the reason for the right to hold sway..while the centreists will be arguing the party has to move back to the centre if they hope to regain support in urban/multi-cultural new zealand..
(mind you..have you seen the photo of the new national caucus..?..talk about ‘rural white-bread’..cor…..it looks like a photo of a group of rotarians..circa 1984…or thereabouts..)
