i’m still not sure where i stand on this one….
on the one hand i can see the ascetic appeal of having native trees lining queen st…(and the possible underlying agendas of some of those opposed to replacing them with natives..)
and on the other i have an aversion to chopping down trees …which in some cases..are in rude health….provide shade….and are there now…all green and leafy….and thriving…and bringing much needed shade/concealment to the inner city..
here we have a strong argument against ripping them out from someone who has much credibility in the world of trees…esp natives…..
so now i am even more confused….
(y’see i have benefited from one of those big exotics…up in albert st…..i cd stand in my place and out one window..all i could see was big exotic tree..it was nice…)
