you could just about see the tyre marks across the screen as brash backpedalled furiously on his tax policies/promises this morning..
when asked for a timetable for these tax cuts, brash hummed and ha’ed and said they would be introduced when they had cut enough government spending to be able to afford them..(insert tui rejoinder)
this chimera of tax cuts is looking just that, eh?
btw1..the much vaunted tax cuts in australia put a paltry $6pw in the pockets of those earning up to $58,00 per annum..go figure..
btw2.. as clark pointed out, this poll rating is the same as what voted them back in..some soft labour voters have been seduced by brashs siren call (shudder!)…but most of nationals new support is that which has bled away from act and united…(the right eats itself..they haven’t quite sussed out this mmp thing yet, eh?)
brash did get one thing right though..in that he said this is developing into a two horse race..
where he got it wrong is him saying this two horse race is between labour and national..whereas in reality, it is a two-horse race between the forces of/for progressive politics, in labour/greens, and the forces of/for reactionary politics, in the form of national and new zealand first..
