a couple of years ago, the nipper and i checked out the chinese new year celebrations in albert park.
it was wonderful. the park was transformed by the use of lanterns/light into a wonderland.
it was almost surreal. the light and the quiet bringing spiritual/ethereal qualities to the occaison.
at the time there were a couple of food stalls stuck over in a corner; almost as an afterthought.
but, whoar! has all that changed. the hounds and i wandered up to albert park last night into a scene completely the opposite of two years previously; less spiritual in nature, more like one of the seven circles of hell.
the lights have become the afterthought. the whole park and princes st was transformed into a huge crowded outdoor foodhall.
think big day out, minus the music, plus pushchairs, and you’d just about have it.
if you missed it this year; i wouldn’t sweat it.
