lurking on 1% in the polls..and with a snowballs’ chance in hell of winning epsom….hide is pounding the pavement..trying to persuade the righties to give him their vote..
the most perceptive comment on acts’ impending death i’ve seen, (and the apparent insouciance of many on the right at this prospect,)…is on a comments thread on farrars’ blog..in it the writer noted that the former money -men behind act don’t need that party any more because they have taken over national, and have their former reserve bank flunky, brash, running that party..
update:..i heard hide on morning report this morning, and credit where credit is due…he sounded quite chipper and quite on top of his game…
n.b….as long as the(my) expected collapse of nationals’ vote prior to polling day happens act will be back..and even if i’m wrong and it’s still close between lab and nat, i’m still not writing them off untill the night, actually..
they deserve to return if only because they and peters have been the opposition partys in the debating chamber..national has been worse than useless since whenever…
and the greens have been too close to labour to be a go for the throat opposition party.(which is part of the reason why i would like to see them much bigger/stronger and tearing up the government (lab nzfirst?) from the opposition benches…. )
so, of all the parties it’s been down to act really…so they have earned their place..
but hey..life/politics ain’t fair..eh?
