those who were hoping for another of those peaceful revolutions in lebanon, could be in for a shock.
they work where you have a people united against their opressors; as in the former soviet bloc states.
but lebanon is a different case altogether; as a proxy battlefield for the various forces in the region, the nation itself reflects those regional conflicts.
consequently now you have hundreds of thousands of lebanese taking to the streeets in support of the invaders, syria. (there are more demonstrators calling for syria to stay, than took to the streets to demand they leave.)
before syria invaded lebanon the country had been wracked by civil war; and the great fear is that with the syrians gone, all hell will break loose again.
