here is an interview with the reporter who broke the story on the newspaper circulation scams run by american newspapers….the papers had to pay back over$200 million back to advertisers (as ad rates are based/justified on circulation figures..)
the australian version of this scandal is bubbling along nicelly, largely broken/pushed by web news service Crikey..
nothing happening here as yet..but as our media is in the main foreign owned, surely a few rocks need to be looked under here….
of course, the advertising industry has the most to gain from uncovering any malfeasance around circulation figures here..
question: are those copies of the herald that are given away counted in the circulation figures?..if the answer is yes, how many copies each day are given away?
do inl give complimentary newspapers to any institutions/organisations?
are these newspapers included in the circulation figures..if so, how many?
