the fightback against the rise of national/brash has started..
and it’s foreign policy/health/education that he’s being hit on….
national must think we are really stupid…they tell us they will hand out tax cuts, but won’t cut spending….how is this..?..i’m sure micro-economies on grounds of efficiency could be made, (when is that never true..?), but there is nowhere near enough there for any tax cut of substance…
is brash just going to print more money..?
but where brash is really falling down early in the piece is on foreign affairs..especially iraq..
we can be in no doubt that national would have had us there with uncle sam..boots and all..and we would now be getting bodybags sent back home and, like cities like sydney and melbourne, would be bracing ourselves for the expected terrorist attack/retaliation..
showing an astonishing lack of political nous brash is refusing to answer whether he would commit troops, even now…or in the immediate future..
now, foreign affairs traditionally dosen’t feature on the radar during election campaigns..but this time it will…
i don’t think many new zealanders want a bar of americas’attempt at hegemony over middle-east oil supplies….but brash and his advisors don’t seem to see that….
and of course..should bush decide someone else needs to be invaded..(a re-run of the korean war anyone..?), a national government would ensure our soldiers would die as toadies in service to the empire..
i mean, talk about lap-dogs..you can almost hear brash panting in anticipation of his few minutes being tickled behind the ear…
