“national front(?), new zealand first(?)”, i hear you say..
no, this is a taste of nationals’ campaigning tactics..oo-er..a tad whiffy, eh?
perhaps the most offensive of these billboards, (the iwi-kiwi one),has already been resolutely debated on david farrars’ eponymous rightwing blog..
with many of the righties over there being far more scathing of this glimpse of nationals’ tactics/themes than perhaps the left could be…
you’d think national may have taken more notice of the findings of that free focus group, eh?..but there you go..
and of course, the themes on show here confirm those assumptions that peters and national is a marriage made in heaven, eh?
(though peters will no doubt be pissed at national stealing new zealand first campaign themes..)
peters will now have to be even more xenophobic and strident in an attempt to differentiate new zealand first from their ideological compatriots, and most likely coalition bedmate, national..
(interesting how the heavy thinkers in national have decided ghettoising themselves over there with peters is the way to go, eh?..
i suppose you could argue this shows a definite paucity of ideas within national..)
