good to see the msm getting on the case about this one..
(campbell live also did a piece on this last night…btw..any chance of the networks archiving those shows for about say 48 hrs so we could catch up if we need to?..i mean i’m a media/politics junkie, but usually i escape to the simpsons..aahh, the certainties of the yellow people, eh?..)
anyway, i’ve been banging on for awhile on this site, (under health), about what is to me the bleeding obvious…unconscionable amounts of sugar in drinks and most processed food=obesity..where’s the mystery?..
this awareness came from personal experience..stop consuming such large amounts of sugar..and walk..and you will lose excess weight..
and remember folks, low-fat usually means very high in sugar..read the labels..
some of those energy drinks have up to 14(!) teaspoons of sugar in them and heaps of caffeine..i don’t know about legislating to regulate the harm done by party pills (which is debatable)..there is absolutely no doubt about the harm being done by this poisonous crap masquerading as food and drink..
the food and drink manufacturing industry is like the wild west..and they have to be brought under control…they make short term profits, and we as a society will have to pick up the health bill in the future..
this sucks, eh?
just try and find healthy processed food in your average supermarket..and you will find it is ghettoised..whereas in those areas where obesity is rampant you won’t find anything healthy..duh!, can anyone else add one plus one..?
guidelines have been issued to schools to help them healthy-up their tuck-shops…..i guess it’s a start..and not before time..
but if food and drink manufacturers are permitted to continue poisoning us in this way, any guidelines are a bit of a joke really, eh?..
it does absolutely nothing unless these manufacturers/retailers who don’t give a toss about what they flog to us, (or the health implications), are dragged into line…
