for me there is only one contendor…early on on tv3 when the greens were still below 5%..retiring act mp deborah coddington emoted…and told us how disappointed she would be if her ideological opposites the greens didn’t get back in..
she then waxed eloquent about the abilities and personalities in the green party..with especially warm words around sue bradford…
this would have surprised/shocked both act and green supporters watching…many of whom may have forgotten that the greens and act voted together in the last parliament on legislation..mainly on issues of personal freedom….(which is labours’ achilles heel..eh.?)..
there is also grudging respect between the act and the greens over the acknowledgment that both come with a strong ideological/beliefs background…the direct opposite of political whores like dunne..
