y’know ..about this coalition business…?
i reckon the best bet bet is to wait until the specials are counted and nandor is back in the mix….
then it would be relatively easy to cobble together a lab/grn/prog..with the maori party either in there too …or providing confidence and supply..
a promise of the entrenching of the maori seats would go a long way to persuading the maori party to party…
this grouping would also have the benefit of not having to deal with dunne or peters…..a blessing in itself
and such a grouping would provide the opportunity to make some real progress on the many environmental/social issues that need attending to….. as all parties are (sort of) heading in the same direction..
also..this mix and a decent showing this time out will be beneficial for the longterm prospects of the centre-left-grn-mp..
all things being equal…..both the greens and the maori party should be able to grow their numbers next time out….
though i do have some concerns at the undue haste being demonstrated by clark……she could well repeat her trick of the last time the greens had to wait on the specials..and form a government in the meantime….
