Hon BILL ENGLISH to the Minister of Finance: Why is it Government policy that someone earning $39,000 a year should pay the 33 cent tax rate?
english tries to have a go at cullen..
cullen sees him off..(in a faintly impatient manner..accusing him of making things up..)
cullen notes that it is usually the rich who moan about tax cuts for the top payers..copeland asks..why no margin shifts..as previously promised..
cullen dosen’t answer..
english has another go..(and is getting somewhat petulant…)

cullen today is firing..
and he is so much more effective when he has that smile playing about his lips..as he ‘does the deed’..
(even the mp’s sitting behind english are looking a tad ‘ill’..half-smiles pasted awkwardly on their faces..)
(english says..”it’s good to be winning the argument’..which cracks everyone up..!..)

(that was quite choice..!..fun to watch/hear..)

cullen replies that labour have increased public transport funding by a factor of twelve..
cullen promises continued/increased funding..
(williamson is on the short list for stupid question of the day..asking has traffic density gone up since labour came to power..(!)
cullen cites the spending labour has done on public transport..
fitzsimons notes the twelvefold increase cited by cullen..given the small ‘spend’ under national..dosen’t really add up totoo much..
(and gets a minor ‘gothcha! on both cullen..and national..)
GERRY BROWNLEE to the Minister of Justice: Does he stand by his statements that “the Government is reviewing the rules relating to Parliamentary expenditure†and “The Electoral Finance Bill needs to align with the review of Parliamentary expenditureâ€; if so, why?
burton trys to defend this poxy bill..
(the body language of those around burton just screams..’dead man walking’..
(i mean..i want to bloody fire him..!..i can’t understand how clark is restraining herself..)
(brownlee is honing his comedy routine..and also asking worthwhiler questions of the hapless burton..
but he does ramble on..
peters gives brownlee a serve for that rambling..
brownlee asks if a pledge card from labour next year would be exempt from the election spending limits..
yes..!.it will be exempt..!

english is getting traction against cullen..
but then cullen answers..and puts english back inhis place..
field has his five cents worth again..’a reflection on his person’..(!)
the speaker rules smith does not have to withdraw and apologise..
field objects again..
smith gets to ask his question again..

power doing his fear-mongering crime-routine..again..(yawn..!..)
with king yabbering back at him..
I’m tuning out..the la de da’s are doing ‘how is the air up there?’..on whoarfmone..(turn it up..!..turn it up..!..)
followed by the byrds doing ‘all i really want to do’..mmm!!!..yummy..!!..)

(good grief..!..i’m nearly falling asleep here..
natty mp (bennett) is creche-scare-mongering..(heh-heh..!..that’s a new one..!..eh..?..)
everyone cracks up..(as they should..as they should..)
aarrgghh!!..it’s one of the smiths..!..again..
(sometimes this just gets all too silly..!..)
(roy ayers..followed by queens of the stone age..)
RON MARK to the Minister of Police: Is she satisfied with the Police’s handling of the purchase and roll-out of stab-resistant body armour; if not, why not?
(this one is an exercise in black humour..a series of cock-ups..of monumental proportions..)

the (extra extra small) vests will be saves for ‘appropriately sized police’..
keep an eye out for little-people..all vested-up..!..eh..?
Hon DAVID CARTER to the Minister of Agriculture: Is he satisfied with the progress of the Sustainable Water Programme of Action?
anderton trys to fluff his way through a positive spin on how degraded our waterways have become under labour..
(i’m gagging/dry-retching here..anderton is pontificating about ‘saving for future generation’..(!)
he’s got some feckin’ nerve..!..eh..?)
flavell asks about treaty responsibilities..around water..
MARTIN GALLAGHER to the Minister for Courts: What has he done to improve court facilities?

Questions to Members
CHRISTOPHER FINLAYSON to the Chairperson of the Justice and Electoral Committee: When were the persons who provided oral evidence to the Justice and Electoral Committee on the Electoral Finance Bill on 17 September 2007 told of the time that they would be appearing before the committee?
well..it started with a hiss and a roar and then descended into extended eye-gouging-inducing ennui..
cullen gets performer of the day..(and he did it with a smile on his face..and a song in his heart..)
english gets the ‘hapless-loser-award’..
he has rarely looked worse..(it’s the first time i’ve been forced to call for a zambuck..!..eh..?)
(mmm!..white stripes..!..at least i have my music..eh..?..)
fitzsimons got a good double-swipe in..noting the twelve-fold increase in public transport dosen’t really add up to much..
given the almost invisible base figure handed on by national..(heh-heh..!..)
williamson romps away with the ‘braindead question of the day award’..a big ‘duh!’ to that man..
brownlee gets a ‘still a rambling man’ award..for his ‘free-form’ style of questioning..
news of the day..is that coal use emmissions have trebled under labour..(whoar..!..eh..?..)

a claim showing its’ lack of any worth..by labours’ abysmal record on the environment..
(especially in their dairy-pimp roles..)
the smiths share a ‘boy..!didn’t they cause proceeding to gring to a halt award’..
(they could ‘bore’ for feckin’ new zealand..those two..eh..?.)

bennett gets a special ‘heh-heh! award’..for her creche-scare-mongering..
and martin gallagher gets a special ‘short-attention-span-award’..

(but the music/soundtrack was bloody good..!..eh..?..)
