(ed: of course the elephant in the room with this one – vis a vis the north koreans – is that the american missile defence system is only configured to operate to a certain height above earth – and what the north koreans have done is to develop missiles that fly higher than the american defense systems can reach..
(so what we are seeing is a missile version of just walking around a large wall built to keep you out..)
so the american missile defence system is seriously compromised – pretty much useless..
with americas’ only deterrent being the retribution that would follow any attack..deterrent enough you would hope..
which explains why the americans are panicking so much – and why this situation is so fraught with possible perils..)
A test of America’s missile defence systems in Hawaii has reportedly failed to shoot down its target – against the backdrop of heightened tensions with North Korea.
An exercise conducted by the Missile Defence Agency was unsuccessful – with the military unable to shoot down an incoming missile launched from an aircraft – multiple outlets reported.
A Department of Defence representative confirmed a drill had taken place without responding to questions about whether it had accomplished its objectives.
(ed: personally i would put the chances of america attacking north korea as even higher than this stated figure of 70% – the ‘for why?’ in this claim is that the really scary factor in this equation/scenario (aside from the two madmen who are the central players) is that nth korea have designed a missile system where the missiles fly higher than the american missile defence system is designed for..
think about that..!…this means that north korea will soon/(now?) be able to launch missiles at america…have them fly over/above the american defences..and then drop on wherever…
(i have reported on this fact previously here @ whoar – but i have been puzzled at not having seen mainstream coverage of what is for me perhaps the most salient point/factor in this ongoing crisis..do the m.s.m. not know yet..?..have they all missed that bus.?)
now this is not an ongoing scenario that the americans will tolerate..basically they are/will be defenceless..
and this is why i think we are at 90% (or more) chance of there being all-out war between america and north korea..instigated by america..
to neutralise this very real threat to fortress-america..
and that scares me very very much..as the imperatives for the americans are/must be very compelling for them.. )
Experts have warned Congress that it is ignoring a newly-developed weapon from North Korea which could shut down the US power grid and kill the vast majority of Americans within a year.
The Chinese government has ordered all North Korean companies based in the country to close as a result of UN sanctions over Pyongyang’s latest nuclear missile tests.
China’s commerce ministry said on Thursday that North Korean firms or joint ventures in China will be shut within 120 days of the UN decision – which was announced on 12 September.
The move comes amid intense international pressure on China to act to rein-in its neighbour.
Beijing had previously ordered banks to stop working with the North Korean regime following US concerns the Chinese government wasn’t being tough enough on the North Korean nuclear threat.
China is North Korea’s main trading partner – making the success of UN sanctions dependent upon Beijing’s cooperation and the latest sanctions are a clear indication of China’s growing frustration at Kim Jong Un’s regime.
