But the agency says two months’ notice for seniors was enough. How to get a SuperGold concession on an At Hop card:
Step one: Buy a gold AT Hop card.
Step two: Register your card. To register online you need an email address. If you don’t have an email address, then post your form and copies of your ID. Auckland Transport will register your card for you and load your concession.
Step three: Apply and load your SuperGold public transport concession on your gold AT Hop card via online, post or in person.
Step four: Wait five working days for the concession to be loaded, then take a trip on public transport within 60 days to activate it.
(ed:..and at midnight on the first/next full-moon pensioners are ordered to walk into their backyards holding their new cards aloft…to hop up and down on one leg three times..and then to move in a slow/shuffling circle – three times – (still holding the card aloft) and all the while chanting ‘all praise auckland transport!’ – ‘all praise our great transport-leaders!’
only then/after that will pensioners be able to use their new/improved! travel-concession cards..
(plus of course there are the rituals/ceremony around destroying their old-card..the chopping up and the burning – of course again at midnight – and all the while uttering the a.t.-chant-of-praise..)
..this is what great leaders deliver –
– and ‘where oh where is heath robinson?’ i hear you ask..
..he is alive and well – and currently working at auckland transport on the new hop-card for pensioners – is the answer to that question.
(but seriously! – could these fools organise a bbq in a slaughterhouse..?..to go with a piss-up in a brewery..?..i doubt it..eh..?..)
pensioners are the most fixed in one place/most-documented group in society..
..why the bloody hell couldn’t this have all been done by auckland transport..?
..and then the new cards could have just been posted out…
..and on day 59/61 will we see panicked pensioners with unactivated-cards..?…those temporarily unwell having to be stretchered to trains/buses – to activate their new/’improved!’ cards..?..before they expire..?..(the cards – not the pensioners – tho’ those demanded-rituals from auckland transport should ‘expire’ a few of them..
..forcing pensioners into midnight-rituals outside can only end badly for some of them..eh..?..)
