(ed: of course those dissenting republican senators also have an eye firmly fixed on the mid-term elections in 2018..they want to be able to stand up in the election campaign and say – hand on heart – that they opposed the unravelling of obama-care and the replacement by trump-care.
and all republican senators (unless comotose) must be worried about those mid-terms next year..
at the rate trump is going his approval ratings will be totally down the gurgler by then – if he hasn’t been arrested (on ricco-(racketeering) grounds..it is his mobster-ways/history that will bring down trump..
(and if i could just update you on the latest from the twitter-sources that have been spookily accurate and weeks ahead of the mainstream/corporate up until now – they report that a person very close to trump has been telling family/friends that both he and donny would be ‘doing time’..will be going to jail..
(that’s an eyebrow-raiser..eh..?..)
but back at these justifiably nervous republican senators..if trump is still there – the only way americans will be able to express their opposition to trump will be to vote those republican senators out – it’s looking to be a bloodbath..
and this 12% support for trump-care rings that bell loud and clear..)
A new poll sows that only 12 per cent of Americans support the Senate bill that would repeal and replace Obamacare.
The USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll conducted from 24-27 June of a 1,000 registered voters found that more than half want the Affordable Care Act left in place.
The majority of that set of people at 42 per cent – acknowledge that there are issues with Obamacare and want the problems fixed while leaving the legislation in place in the interim.
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell needs 50 votes to pass the bill – however nine Republicans have come out publicly to voice at least some dissent.
With only a 52-48 majority Republicans can only afford to lose two of their own.
